Dairy owner left shaken up after armed robbery

A Dairy owner in Otumotai has been left shaken up  after his shop was robed at gun point yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to the Grange Rd Dairy just before 5pm when a male armed with a gun entered the store  and demanded for money.

Detective Senior Sergeant Darryl Brazier of the Taurnga police said  the offender  was a Caucasian male possible in his early twenties, wearing a black top, black or grey pants and carrying a blue backpack.

"The incident occurred at about 4.40pm when a man entered the shop with a firearm, possible a pistol and demanded  money from the sole shop attendant."  He says.

"The shop attendant has given the offender the money  and he has made off on foot towards Brookfield."

"The shop owner was left shaken after the incident and was seen to by Victims Support."

"We would like to speak with anyone in the area who saw the incident occurring or anyone who could possibly identify the offender to contact us immediately"
