Vehicle crash on SH2 (UPDATE)

A Te Puke man is in a serious condition in Tauranga hospital following a car crash this morning near Paengaroa.

The accident involving two utility vehicles happened just after 8.30am near the Rangiuru meat works plant.

A St John Ambulance spokesperson said the driver of one of the vehicles was cut free from the vehicle and taken to Tauranga hospital in a serious condition.

Police are investigating the accident.
