Wild weather affects local radio station
Local Whakatane radio station 1xx has become victim to the wild weather that is currently battering the Bay of Plenty.
Gale force winds and heavy rain is currently lashing the Eastern Bay affecting broadcast of the local radio station.
"We're having transmission problems from up on Mount Edgecumbe, our technicians are up on the mountain now, trying to fix the problem." 1xx said.
"In the meantime you can still get us on 89.7FM (low frequency) or 1242AM. Or of course we're always streaming online at 1xx.co.nz"
A severe weather warning is in place for the Bay of Plenty.
