Colin Armer quits Fonterra
Fonterra Chairman, Sir Henry van der Heyden, announced that Mr Colin Armer has today tended his resignation from the Board of Fonterra Co-operative Group Limited.
Sir Henry said that Mr Armer has been on the Board for 6 years and during that time has made a significant contribution to the progress of Fonterra. While we are disappointed that Colin has chosen to resign we respect his decision.
Director elections will be conducted in the normal course proceeding to the Annual Meeting later this year at which time farmer shareholders will elect a new director to fill this vacancy.
In June Mr Armer's company Armer Farms (NI) entered a guilty plea in Tauranga District Court to unlawful discharge of dairy effluent at a Maketu farm in October 2010. The company was fined $72000
