$100,000 water tanker project

Local Rotorua MP Todd McClay in the  the car crash scenario at the Nogotaha Fire Brigade open day last Saturday. 

The Ngongotaha Volunteer Fire Brigade are on a mission to  raise $100,000 for a new water tanker and renovations to the current station to accommodate the new tanker. 

Last weekend the Brigade held an open day to showcase their involvement in the community, promote fire safety and help raise funds towards the tanker project. 

spokesperson for the Ngongotaha Volunteer Fire Brigade says the day was all about raising awareness of our involvement within the local community, promote fire safety in the home and to fund raise for our water tanker project.

"The weather unfortunately was not ideal but about 60 - 100 people attended throughout the day. The highlight was the car crash scenario which involved MP Todd McClay." 

"We need to raise almost $100,000 to complete the tanker conversion and to extend the station to accommodate it."
