Community Guy Fawkes night in Matata
The Matata community are preparing for a cracker of a night on Saturday with the Matata community Blue Light Guy Fawkes Night.
Organised by the Matata Blue Light the night offers a safe place to light fireworks and a bomb fire to roast your marshmallows and a place for families to come together and enjoy the night with the community.
Yvonne Costar from the Matata Community Resource centre says the night is a night of fun, enjoyment and safety for the whole family.
"There will be an array of competitions and prizes to give away including the the 'Guy' competition for the best looking one and other fun competitions to look forward to." She says.
"The local fire brigade will be there making sure everyone is safe along with the local Police."
"Food stalls will also be on offer to keep you well feed during the night also." She says.
The event is an attitude, alcohol, drug free event and kicks off 7pm at the Wilson Street Reserve.
