Update: Crash on SH35

A motorcyclist has been transported to Whakatane hospital  after a crash.

The crash involving a motorcycle and milk  tanker truck happened just after 11am.

A fire communications spokesperson says emergency services from Waihau Bay, Te Kaha and Opotiki  responded to the crash.

Waihau Bay Fire chief  Bill Green says the man's leg was trapped under the motorcycle on arrival.

"It appears the man has clipped  a milk tanker and has come off his motorcycle"  He says.

Police say they are investigating the crash.
