Three rescued from rocks

Yesterday the Trust Power Tect  Rescue helicopter was called to rescue two people who were trapped on rocks at the Heads in Whakatane.

The man and his child  became trapped when the tide prevented them from walking back to shore yesterday afternoon.

Attempts were made to rescue the man and child by boat but were unsuccessful due to rough seas.

A Life guard was able to get onto the rocks but became trapped also.

The Trust Power Tect Rescue Helicopter was called into assist with the rescue and all parties were rescued and checked over by local paramedics.

 A spokes person for St John Ambulance said the two were all abit cold but otherwise happy to be on dry land.
