Two quakes strike Taranaki

 An Earthquake has stuck Taranaki at 10.03pm.

 An earthquake also hit New Plymouth at 9.28pm.

The magnitude 3 at a depth of 5km felt like 'a truck was hitting the house' says New Plymouth resident Andrew Manick.

The quake has been reported to geonet as 'moderate'.

The quake has been felt as far down as the lower North Island near Wellington and 'severe' in New Plymouth.
