Te Waka Huia take out Te Matatini 2013

 Auckland's Te Waka Huia have been crowned the ultimate winner of the 2013 Te Matatini competition in Rotorua this afternoon. 

The four day national Kapa Haka competition has seen over 41 teams from all regions of New Zealand and Australia  take to the stage to compete for the  national title.

Nine finalists including, Waka Huia, Te Matarae i Orehu, Waihirere, Tu Te Manawa Maurea, Te Whanau a Apanui, Opotiki Mai Tawhiti, Te Pou o Mangatawhiri, Whangara Mai Tawhiti and Te Iti Kahurangi  were selected to move into today's final  and the decision was made deciding the ultimate winner.

The next national Kapa Haka competition will be held in Christchurch in 2015.
