Teen rescued from falls

The Rotorua based Bay Trust Rescue Helicopter was called to Omanawa Falls just after 6pm to rescue a teenage girl who slipped at the falls and sustained serious injuries.
The 17-year-old girl was from Putaruru and on holiday with her family when the accident happened.
A St John Paramedic was winched down to where the girl was as the helicopter was unable to land at the scene. The girl and Paramedic were then winched back to the helicopter and flown to Tauranga Hospital for further treatment.
