Road safety exhibition for Taupo youth
The parents’ evening will be held on Thursday 9 May between 7.00pm and 9.00pm at the Great Lake Centre and parents are encouraged to bring along their teenagers.
The Road Safety Exhibition focuses on "The Ripple Effect" of road trauma and the long term consequences of the choices young people can make. It details the flow-on effect of a crash to the victim’s family, friends, response teams and the community; it gives participants an insight into how many people are affected by road crashes.
Students in years 10 to 13 from Taupo District schools have been invited to the exhibition that is being organised in conjunction with Youth week. Students will attend in school groups on Thursday 9 May and Friday 10 May between 11.30am and 1.30pm at the Great Lake Centre.
A captivating group of speakers are lined up for the exhibition, with victims and family members telling their stories of how they were affected by crashes. There will also be a chance for parents to discuss and ask questions.
