Teen death: Name suppression lifted on accused

The two accused charged  in relation to the death of Tauranga teenager Jovaan Graham, appeared in the Tauranga Distrit court yesterday. 

Thomas McDonald, 30, and Cheyanne McCausland, 23, who are believed to have been with Jovan prior to the discovery of her body outside the Pohlen Hospital in Matamata early on Wednesday morning.

A car struck the Tauranga teen on the Kaimai Range and the vehicle's driver was allegedly abducted and assaulted but managed to escape and raise the alarm.

 Mc Donald and McCausland appeared in Tauranga District Court yesterday charged with aggravated robbery, kidnapping, injuring with intent and the unlawful use of a vehicle.

No bail application has been made and they were remanded in custody by Judge Peter Stiller.

The two are due to reappear on April 16.
