Western Bay of Plenty fire ban to be lifted

Western Bay Moana Rural Fire Authority, Principal Rural Fire Officer, Barry Low
will be lifting the fire ban in the Western Bay Of Plenty at 6am on Monday after parts of the Western Bay has had rain in recent day combined with lower day temperatures.

Low says that with lower day temperatures and more rain possible the fire danger has reduced.

Low is pleased with the attitude shown by some people during the ban, but there are also some people that believe they are above the law.

From next Monday the Western Bay will go back to being a restricted fire season. Open fires are allowed with a permit by the Rural Fire Authority.
