Winter is on its way

We are now halfway through Autumn and the mornings are getting cooler, The MetService is forecasting colder mornings and rain in the next few days.

The MetService has forecast rain in The Bay Of Plenty and most parts of the country as a high pressure system moves across the country.

Early morning temperatures fell just below freezing in some parts of The Bay Of Plenty, a reader from Rotorua told The BOP Live that there was a frost on their car this morning and also with white out frosts reported at Tongariro.

Showers are forecast for parts of The Bay Of Plenty tomorrow then a fine rest of the week with temperatures reaching the mid teens.

Rain is forecast for the start of next week as an area of low pressure near Queensland is moving toward New Zealand.
