Car hits tree in Matamata
The Police Serious Crash Unit are investigating a vehicle crash that occurred in Matamata this morning.
A car with one occupant crashed into a tree on the corner of Horrell Rd and Manhire Rd, Te Puninga, Matamata in the Piako District just before 3am this morning.
Road closures on Horrell Rd with SH27, Horell Rd and Haumia Rd, and Manhire Rd were put in place as police carried out a scene examination.
A police spokesperson says one person is in a serious condition.
