Update woman dead after Kaimai crash
A 42 year old woman is dead after a crash this morning between an unladen logging truck and car on State Highway 29 near Ruahihi Road intersection.
The crash occurred at around 8.15am this morning, the women was the sole occupant of the vehicle she was in which was struck by the truck as she was attempting to turn right out of Ruahihi Road.
The road will remain closed till around 11.30am today.
Drivers are being urged to take 'extreme caution' on the diversion route of Poripori Road.
When emergency services arrived on the scene at 8.17am this morning they found one person heavily trapped in the car ,the occupant of the vehicle died soon after.
Police, serious crash unit and one fire appliance are still at the scene.

Police have diversions in place for traffic heading towards Tauranga from the Kaimais, traffic is being diverted down Poripori Road and traffic heading towards the Kaimais from Tauranga are being diverted down Cambridge Road in Tauriko.
