Multiple deaths and injuries after Florida gas plant explosion

Multiple deaths and injuries have been reported following a series of explosions at a gas plant in Lake County, Florida.

The explosions happened as several night shift crew were working at the plant, but it is too early to know how many have been killed or injured.

The Tavares city manager says 24 people were working at the time of the explosion and 10 are currently missing.

Lake County sheriff Gary Borders says the blasts occurred inside the plant and blew the roof off.

The Orlando Sentinel reports the blasts began about 11pm (local time) and continued for about an hour.

Residents in the area have been evacuated.
