Women killed in Bay of Plenty crash
An elderly woman sitting in the back seat of a car has died in a crash in the eastern Bay of Plenty.
The crash was at the intersection of State Highway 2 and Ohiwa Beach Road near Waiotahi.
Police say a car attempting to exit the intersection was hit by a vehicle approaching it after failing to give way.
The woman who died was in the oncoming car.
The serious crash team is investigating.
