10-year-old hit by a bus

A 10-year-old boy is in a serious condition after being hit by a bus.

The accident happened yesterday just after 11am when the boy was believed to be crossing the road on a scooter on Renolf St next to the skate park.

A spokes person for St John Ambulance said the boy was taken to Rotorua hospital in a serious condition.

Police said they are investigating the accident and were unable to comment furtherer.

A witness told The Bop Live all they heard was the bus breaking hard and then just screaming.
