Tauranga Drift superstar snapped up by professional mgmt

For Bay of Plenty Drifter Cole Armstrong, a dream in professional Motorsport just became one step closer with his signing to New Zealand professional Motorsport Management agency MPBManagement.
The 25 year old driver says from Tauranga "it was the next logical step in getting to where we want to be professionally, and working with a professional agency will open the doors we need to do so. This means we can concentrate on the one thing that really matters to us - winning, and although it's a new concept for Motorsport in NZ we think it's a necessary formula".
Armstrong, who has competed nationally for the last three seasons and internationally in both Australia and China during the last twelve months, shows a promising future in the relatively young sport of Drifting in New Zealand and on the world scale. "It's great to have the opportunity to be represented professionally and it takes our presence in Motorsport a great deal further. It means we're creating the opportunities we need to be racing at the highest levels and it's an extension to the team we didn't have before".
PR and Marketing Director from MPBManagement, Mary Brown says "we've watched Cole progress professionally in the high adrenaline, high intensity sport of Drifting over the last two years and feel both the sport and Cole are at a pivotal turning point which benefits from being supported by a professional agency."
"We only choose to represent clients based on their dedication, skill and marketability in the sport and we saw the same level of determination in Cole which we saw in ourselves when starting the agency. He has a fantastic rapport with his fans and within the industry, his technical ability in Drifting is amongst the best in Australasia and it's not something new to followers of Drifting that Cole has something special."
Special enough even to be backed by major energy drink V-Energy for the duration of his professional career - support from the energy giant has allowed Cole to quickly develop strong brand value in the discipline which is dominated by the future of motorsport followers - an enthusiastic sea of 18-25 year olds.
V Energy Brand Manager Ursla Wiig states "we'll continue to support Cole in his motorsport goals one hundred percent. It's exciting to see Cole being given the professional support he needs from an agency which understands the importance of marketing in Motorsport and pushes for the opportunity for Cole to compete at the highest levels. It's not a foreign concept in international respects and it's the perfect marriage for success here in NZ."
Armstrong is currently competing in the World Drift Series, China which runs through to October, as well as the Tectaloy Trans-Tasman Drift Battle in Australia this August and will compete in the National Drifting Championship throughout the summer season commencing in October.
