One dead in fatal crash near Taupo
One person is dead after a fatal collision on SH5 in Wairakei near Taupo.
The crash happened just before 2am this morning.
The drivers of both vehicles have been taken to Waikato Hospital, one in a serious condition. The male passenger of one of the vehicles involved, died at the scene.
There are no further details as Police are currently advising relatives.
SH5 was closed between Palmer Mill and Ohaki Roads, but has since been reopened.
