Meteor showers to light up the skies

Three meteor showers over the next couple of weeks will light up the skies above New Zealand.

The Alpha Scorpids Meteor shower is from March 26 – May 12 and peaking on May 03.

The Pi Puppids Meteor shower is from April 15 – April 28 and peaking on April 23.

The Eta Aquarids Meteor shower is from April 19 – May 28 and peaking on May 05.

The Eta Aquarids shower will be the largest with up to 50 meteors per hour expected.

Tomorrow night will be the peak of the Pi Puppids shower which is the second biggest out of the three with up to 40 meteors per hour expected.

Keep your eyes on the sky tomorrow night for a spectacular display.
