Lakes News:

High pressure lies over most of NZ through Wed

A ridge of high pressure lies over most of New Zealand through to Wednesday.

On Thursday, the ridge moves away to the east and a trough crosses the South Island preceded by a northwest airstream. A period of rain is expected over the west of the South Island, but, at this stage, rainfall accumulations are expected to be below warning levels.

On Friday, the trough brings some rain to the North Island while a low forms west of the South Island and a ridge spreads over Southland and Otago.
