Man injured after car crash

One person has been injured after a car accident between a van and a 4X4 on Otumoetai Road at the intersection of Wayne Road.

Two fire appliances, two ambulances and multiple police cars attended the scene.

The man who was trapped from his legs down had to be removed from the car by fire fighters who used the jaws of life to open the drivers door.

Police blocked the road off from Waihi Road intersection with Otumoetai Road and at the other end at Brookfield lights.

The man was taken to hospital in extreme pain but is in a stable condition.
