Wintery blast moving up the country
Cold southerlies are moving up the country today as a cold southerly blast hits the country.

Snow has fallen to very low levels in the South Island with flights being delayed, travel being disrupted and schools being closed with people waking to a white out.
The Rimutaka Hill Road was closed but has now re-opened after snow had fallen this morning.
Snow is expected for the central North Island and high country from today onwards.
MetService says cold air is starting to spread across the county moving up from Antartica will prompt for more layers to be warn for most of the week.
Winds in some parts of the upper North Island could gust to 120 km/h in Auckland and Northland.
A BOP Live reader in Queenstown says they have "woken to snow on the ground and it has started to fall again now".
