X factor: Williams shock exit
A shock result on the X Factor last night.
Over's contestant Taye Williams mentored by judge Stan Walker was sent home to the shock of many viewers after landing in the bottom two.
On Sunday night, Williams performed Kimbra's Settle Down. After a public vote, he and L.O.V.E. were the bottom two acts.
After a fierce song battle between the two, the decision was down to the judges, with Daniel and Mel deciding Taye should exit and Stan and Ruby opposing and deciding to send L.O.V.E packing, with a tied decision the competition was sent into deadlock.
The decision of who was going home now was in the hands of the New Zealand public and the contestant who had the fewest votes was going home, and that was Taye.
His mentor Stan Walker was disgusted with last night decision. "People need to vote, Taye should not be going home and this is all just wrong."
Williams said this is not the end of 'Taye Williams' more like the stepping stones to something bigger and better. He said.
Last night's result leaves Tom Batchelor, Benny Tipene, Fletcher Mills, Whenua Patuwai, Cassie Henderson, Jackie Thomas, Anna Wilson, Maaka Fiso, Gap 5, L.O.V.E. and Moorhouse in the competition.
