Arrests made after home invasion

Three men have been arrested after a home invasion in Welcome Bay early on Sunday morning.



The three men gained access to the property on Waipuna Grove off Kaitemako Road at around 4am early on Sunday morning.

A family of four including a mother, father and two children were at the address at the time, the three men were carrying knives entered the house and stole money and jewelery, they also went through the family car before fleeing on foot, after the offenders left they left the family were able to call police.

Police arrived and placed cordons in place on Kaitemako Road, a BOP Live reader reported seeing police parked up along James Cook Drive and Victory Street near reserve entrances which lead towards the house.

A police dog handler tracked down one of the men who was found at a nearby location and the other two were found at a nearby house.

The three men aged 18, 20 and 22 have been arrested and charged with aggravated burglary, threatening to kill, assault and attempting to unlawfully take a motor vehicle.

They are now in custody awaiting their court hearing on Monday June, 10.
