Serious crash near Taupo

A 40-year-old man is in a serious condition in Waikato hospital after a serious crash near Taupo in the early hours of  this morning.

The crash  involving a truck and a motor vehicle happened at 5.30am on the Eastern Taupo Arterial about 3minutes south of the roundabout-overpass bridge.


The occupants of both vehicles were trapped and the road was closed for some time. 

A 40-year-old man was flown to Waikato hospital by the Taupo based Greenlea Rescue Helicopter  in a serious condition.  

The Police Serious Crash Unit and  Police Commercial Vehicles Investigations Unit are investigating the crash.
