Ten year old killed in horse accident

At 6.30pm yesterday evening Police and emergency services were called to an address in Waiomio, the Far North where a 10 year old boy was killed after his horse bolted, dragging him for some distance.

Circumstances as to how this matter occurred are still being investigated.

The matter has been referred to the Coroner.

There are no further details to be released at this time as further distant family members are yet to be advised.
