Lakes News:

X Factor first live shows

X Factor's first live shows started last Sunday and yesterday ending with the elimination of one of the contestants.

The final results were not surprising as the aim of X Factor is about creating a product that sells to a market willing to pay, which was shown by the final result.

Sunday evening's live show went for a full two hours of performances from every contestant and group, after each performance the public got given the information on how to vote for their favourite contestant via text or online by host Dominic Bowden who is very intent on repeating things.

Monday was the vital show of voting but audiences had to wait for 45 minutes till they got to know who would be going home, firstly seeing shots from the activities of the previous week, press shots and the Ford Kuga in car shoot.

After this the audience got a live show from Willy Moon, the Wellington boy performing his single Yeah, Yeah with some incommensurable dance moves.

Now came the serious moment what two contestants of groups would be put into the show down to see who will be eliminated after the results were read the two left were the duo group L.O.V.E and singer / song writer Eden Roberts.

This was followed by a live performance by one of the judges, Ruby Frost as the contestants got ready for there final 'show down' performances to see who will make it through after the judges vote.

After the two performances it was up to the judges for the final vote.

Daniel Bedingfield votes first, and votes for Roberts saying that he 'believes in her' as he is holding back tears.

Next for voting is Mel Blatt her vote goes for L.O.V.E but still says she 'loves' Roberts and states that she was not sure if Roberts seemed 'comfortable' being in the competition.

Next up was Ruby Frost with her bright pink hair, Frost goes on too say that is 'incredibly hard' for her to make a decision but votes for L.O.V.E also saying she 'respects' Roberts 'as an artist'.

Final vote is left up to Stan Walker who comments he didn't want to be left last to vote, he goes on to say if he didn't go too Australia he would vote L.O.V.E but was also exposed to singer songwriters, but gets interrupted by Bowden pressuring for an answer which heats up the tension for the final vote and existence of one of the contestants in the competition, his end vote is for L.O.V.E.

The final vote was set, Roberts was voted off, this was the right decision as stated before the aim is about creating a product that sells to a market willing pay, which was shown by the final result and Roberts had no 'market'.

For now we have to wait for next Sunday's show and Monday for the voting.
